JM Electrics Ltd is an underground cable jointing company. We provide cable jointing services (LV, 11kv and 33kv) to the power sector throughout Northern Ireland. This includes new connections, fault and emergency, refurbishments and alterations.

Job Application and Employment

If you apply for a role with our Company, other personal data shared is likely to include your employment history, proof of identity, qualification checks, health information etc.

If you provide information in connection with a job application, we may keep it for up to three years in case we decide to contact you at a later date.

If we employ you, we collect information about you and your work from time to time throughout the period of your employment. This information will be used only for purposes directly relevant to your employment. After your employment has ended, we will keep your file for up to six years before destroying or deleting it.

Information from Third-Parties

Business Partners – where we have formal relationships with business partners who may introduce new customers to us, data would include personal contact details, information on the areas of interest and data required to fulfil a request or service.

References – new customer accounts, employment opportunities, etc. with us may result in us taking out references from third-parties. This may be from compliant third-parties or from contacts that you introduce to us for this purpose.

Information (contact names and contact details) may be shared with other business partners such sub-contractors only once permission has been granted.

How we store and process personal data

We store the majority of your information electronically on password protected devices. Any hard-copy records, which are minimal, are stored confidentially and in accordance with our control of records procedures.

If we engage external service providers, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure they comply with data protection law when they handle your information. We will also ensure that they are only authorised to use personal information for the limited purposes agreed with them.

How we secure personal data

Security
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic measures and procedures to protect and secure the information you provide to us. Unfortunately, transmission of information via e-mail is not completely secure. We will keep basic information about customers and their contact details for a minimum of 6 years for tax purposes.
